How Craftsman Roofing Handles Your Information.
The plain-English version of how we collect, use, and protect the details you share when you contact us, request an estimate, or browse this site. No legalese mazes, no buried clauses — just what we actually do, written the way we'd explain it on a porch walkthrough.

A Privacy Policy You Can Actually Read in One Sitting
Most contractor privacy policies are the legal equivalent of a tarp thrown over a leak — they cover the surface and leave you guessing about what's underneath. We took the opposite approach. This policy explains, in plain language, exactly what happens when you hand us your phone number, address, or email through this website. We don't sell your information. We don't trade it. We don't pass it around to a network of "marketing partners." If you reach out, what you share goes to our Fairview shop and stays with the team that's going to handle your roof.
Effective date: April 29, 2026. This policy applies to craftsmanroofingtristate.com and to any phone or email exchanges that start from a form on this site. If we ever update it, we'll change the effective date at the top and the bottom — no quiet rewrites.

What We Collect, Why We Collect It, and What We Do With It
Who This Policy Is From
Craftsman Roofing is a family-owned roofing contractor headquartered in Fairview, NJ, serving residential and commercial customers across Central and Northern New Jersey. This privacy policy describes how Craftsman Roofing handles information collected through craftsmanroofingtristate.com and through any phone or email contact that originates from this site. Throughout this document, "we," "us," and "our" refer to Craftsman Roofing.
What We Collect
Information you give us directly. When you fill out a form on this site, call the number listed, or email us, we receive whatever you choose to share — typically your name, the address of the property you're asking about, a phone number and/or email, a description of the roofing or gutter issue, and any photos or documents you attach. Your inquiry is delivered straight to our office inbox. The submission also includes the IP address you sent it from, which is logged for spam protection — that's standard for any web form on the internet.
Information collected automatically when you visit the site. Like nearly every website online, ours collects basic technical information when a page loads — your IP address, your approximate location based on that IP, your device and browser type, the pages you viewed, and how you arrived (for example, from a Google search). The full list of tools that do this is in "Cookies and Tracking on This Site" below.
We do not record phone calls. We don't use call-tracking software. We don't run a chat widget. We don't operate any newsletter or email signup. The only way information reaches us through this site is through the contact form, the phone number, or your direct email.
Why We Collect It
The contact information you give us has exactly one purpose: getting back to you about your roof. We use it to schedule the appointment, to send you a written estimate, to coordinate the project if you hire us, and to follow up afterward to make sure the work held up. The technical analytics data is used to improve the website itself — fix slow pages, understand what visitors actually need, and decide what content to write next.
What We Do Not Do
We don't sell your contact information. We don't rent it. We don't share it with lead-generation networks, "marketing partners," or third-party roofing call centers. If you've ever filled out a form on a contractor website and immediately started getting calls from companies you've never heard of, that's the practice we're explicitly not doing. Your inquiry goes to our shop's inbox and our internal estimating team — that's it.
Cookies and Tracking on This Site
This site uses cookies — small text files stored in your browser — and a small number of standard tracking technologies. The full list is below. None of them are used to follow you around the internet building an advertising profile.
- Google Analytics 4 (GA4). Measures how the website is used — which pages get viewed, how long visits last, what device people are on. Sets cookies including _ga and _ga_* and reports anonymized usage data to Google.
- Google reCAPTCHA (v3). Protects our contact form from spam and bots. reCAPTCHA loads on every page that includes the form and uses a cookie (_GRECAPTCHA) plus signals from your browser to score whether you're a real visitor. Use of reCAPTCHA is subject to Google's Privacy Policy and Terms of Service.
- Embedded Google Maps. We embed Google Maps on pages where it's helpful (service-area pages, contact page). When those pages load, Google may set cookies even if you don't interact with the map.
- Embedded YouTube videos. If a page on the site embeds a YouTube video, loading that page may set cookies from YouTube and Google. We use this sparingly, but where it appears, this applies.
- Cloudflare. Our DNS and security provider. Cloudflare sets short-lived cookies such as __cf_bm and __cflb to identify and block malicious traffic. These are security cookies — they aren't used for advertising or for tracking you across other websites.
- First-time-visitor cookie (Elementor). On some pages we use a cookie set by our website builder to remember whether you've visited before. This lets us avoid showing first-time visitors a promotional banner or location-update notice that's only meant for returning ones. It doesn't identify you and isn't shared outside this site.
- Akismet (only if comments are enabled). Comments are currently disabled across the site, but if we ever turn them back on, Akismet — the standard WordPress spam filter — would set cookies to identify spam submissions.
You can disable cookies in your browser settings; the site will still load, though some features may behave differently. If you've enabled the Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal in your browser, we honor it as an opt-out request for any tracking that could be considered "sale" or "sharing" of personal information under state privacy laws.
Who Sees Your Information Inside Craftsman Roofing
Your information is accessible to the small team of people who actually work on the business — owners, the office team that schedules appointments, and the project manager assigned to your job if you hire us. The crew who shows up to do the work knows your name, your address, and the scope of the project. Nobody outside that loop has access to your details by default.
Service Providers We Rely On
To run a working website and a working business, we use a handful of standard service providers:
- Website hosting: WP Engine.
- DNS and security: Cloudflare.
- Website analytics, contact-form spam protection, embedded maps, and embedded video: Google (Analytics, reCAPTCHA, Maps, YouTube).
- Standard back-office vendors for estimating, scheduling, payment processing, and similar functions. These vendors handle information only for the purpose we engaged them for, and none of them receive your information for marketing. We review and update this list when our internal tools change.
- Insurance carriers and adjusters: if your project is an insurance claim, we coordinate with your insurance company and their adjuster — but only with your authorization, and only with the information needed to document the claim.
If a government authority ever requires us to disclose information through a valid legal process, we'll comply — but we'll let you know unless the law prohibits us from doing so.
How Long We Keep Your Information
If you contact us and we don't end up doing business together, we keep your inquiry on file for up to 24 months in case you reach back out. After that, it's deleted. If you become an active customer, we keep your project records for as long as we're legally required to (typically seven years for tax and warranty purposes), then delete or archive them per industry standards. Warranty records are retained for the life of the warranty itself.
Your Rights
You can ask us at any time to:
- Tell you what information we have on file about you
- Correct anything that's wrong
- Delete your information (subject to legal retention obligations like warranty records and tax records)
- Stop contacting you about anything beyond an active project
To exercise any of these, just call 201-218-2740 or email us through the contact page. We'll handle it ourselves — no ticket portal, no automated response.
Notice for California Residents
We're a New Jersey roofing contractor. We don't market to California or run California-targeted ads. But if you're a California resident reading this, you have the same rights to access, correct, delete, and opt out of "sharing" of personal information as you would with any business — and we'll honor a request as readily as we would from a Fairview neighbor. We honor the Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal as an opt-out, and you can email or call us using the contact information at the bottom of this page.
Children's Privacy
This site is not directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect information from anyone under 13. If you believe a child has submitted information through our forms, please call us and we'll delete it.
Security
We take reasonable steps to protect the information you share — secure forms, password-protected accounts on internal software, and limited access on a need-to-know basis. No system is 100% bulletproof, and we won't pretend otherwise, but we treat your data the way we treat your home: with care and without taking shortcuts.
Changes to This Policy
If we make changes to how we handle information, we'll update this page and change the effective date at the top. Material changes will also be flagged on the homepage for at least 30 days so you have a chance to read them. We won't make quiet rewrites.
Questions
If anything here is unclear, or if you want to know how a specific scenario applies to you, just call. The same family-owned team that picks up the roofing line also handles privacy questions — we don't have a separate compliance department, because we don't need one.
